Will I be asleep?
No. To an observer, however, you will appear to be asleep. You will be in a deep state of relaxation when in a trance. Since all of your senses are magnified, you are actually more alert and aware of your surroundings while you are in hypnosis. You are in complete control at all times.

What does it feel like to be hypnotized?
You will feel a profound sense of relaxation and comfort. It is an extremely peaceful feeling. Most people experience different bodily sensations ranging from limbs feeling very heavy, tingling sensations or a feeling of floating. Some even deny they were hypnotized because it feels so comfortable and “normal”. Please note that hypnosis is NOT the same as being sound asleep.

Can anyone be hypnotized?
Yes. Any person of at least average intelligence and ability to focus can be guided into a deep state of relaxation. This does not include those who have a serious mental disorder or who may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Above all, the person must be willing. The natural defenses in your mind will prevent you from entering the alpha stage if you do not participate. Please note the goal must be agreed upon by the client. Goals are not what a parent, guardian or spouse wants; it is always only about the client! Hypnosis is a natural and safe process that can be effectively used with children, teens and adults.

Do you work with children?
Yes. Children can benefit from the process of hypnosis. Ages 8 and up. Sports performance, increase focus and reduction of anxiety and fears are the most common issues. The consultation portion of the first visit includes the parent or guardian. The child must be willing to spend time with me during the hypnosis session while the parent waits in the waiting area. For ADD concerns, it’s suggested that children come at least twice a month until adequate changes are experienced. See my article on Hypnosis and Children. I’m also the author of Happy Again which is a short positive story for children ages 3-8 who may have fears or phobias.

Do you work with clients with addictions?
Yes. Hypnosis is very effective to assist with addictive behaviors. For most addictive behaviors, clients come for weekly visits, then bi-weekly and eventually taper off to monthly sessions. The frequency depends greatly on the individual situation. I also suggest to those with serious addictions to seek the assistance of a qualified counselor. Please Note: A physician needs to be involved to monitor detox details.

How many sessions does it take to see results?
The results vary among individuals. It is very common to experience positive change with only one session. Reinforcement sessions may be necessary to see continued positive changes. It also depends on the issues being addressed. Reduced rates are offered for clients who come back for follow-up sessions. It is suggested that Anxiety and Stress Reduction clients visit one to two times each month, depending on the severity and individual details. Weight-Loss clients typically visit twice a month until goals are reached.  Please note that if the issue being addressed through hypnosis has been a concern for six months or longer, multiple sessions are typically necessary.

How do I get the most out of my session?
It is suggested that you come to your session wearing comfortable, loose fitting clothing. Please avoid large amounts of caffeine or sugar products before your session. Do not worry about performing or doing anything correctly; simply enjoy the experience and you will be amazed at the results.

Can my friend and I come together?
YES, Tandem Hypnosis is meant for TWO people who have similar concerns. The session will begin with a consultation. It is mandatory that each participant be present and on time for the consultation portion of the appointment. A common goal will be agreed upon. Each participant will be relaxing in a comfortable chair, guided by Patti’s soothing voice.

Do I have to have a PayPal account to secure my appointment? NO. After you decide on your day and time, you’ll see a ‘Pay Now’ link. After clicking on this link, the two options are PayPal, or the use of any Credit or Debit card. The firm policy is that an Initial Consultation and Hypnosis Visit must be paid in full when the appointment is reserved. The user-friendly link is a yellow rectangle that says: Schedule an Appointment.
